She saw her life as being ‘love in the heart of the Church’. She is popularly called ‘The Little Flower’ because of her promise to send roses, that is, divine favours, on the world after her death.

O God, I offer you all I am going to do today, with and for the glory of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, I want to conquer my faults by casting them into the furnace of his merciful love. O my God, I ask for myself and for those dear to me the grace of perfectly doing your will, of accepting for your love all the joys and pains of this passing life so that we may one day be united for eternity in heaven.
